How much horsepower does a Jeep Wrangler 392 V8 have?

The Wrangler 392 was released in late 2020. It produces 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet torque. The first factory-built V8 powered Wrangler is the Wranglers 392. Source URL

Features: Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 V8 6.4-liter

The Wrangler Rubicon 392 was developed with tests on the Rubicon Trail near Lake Tahoe, Nevada. There were also several runs on a drag strip to maximize straight-inline acceleration. However, the top speed is limited at 159 km/h. Source URL

The new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 has a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter V8 engine that can reach 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. It is the fastest Wrangler and most powerful Wrangler that the company has ever produced. Source URL

It will rip a quarter-mile in just 13 seconds if you take it to drag strips (yes, a Wrangler at a drag strip). Source URL

The Wrangler Rubicon 392 is not a pavement-only showpiece. It benefits from a two-inch increase in ride height, just like the concept. It features an upgraded suspension that features unique geometry, Fox shocks, upper control arms, and heavy-duty brakes. The standard model comes with 33-inch tires on 17-inch wheels with Beadlock-capable 17 inch wheels. Jeep claims that the approach/departure and breakover angles for both the breakover angle and approach are better. Source URL

Jeep’s Wrangler Rubicon 392 was announced on the same morning as Ford’s Bronco announcement. In case you don’t know, the Wrangler Rubicon was meant to be a shot at Ford’s new off-roader. 392 is the displacement of 392 cubic inches. This displacement is derived from the V8 6.4-liter Hemi engine. Source URL

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 also features a two-inch suspension lift with upgraded components and Fox shocks, a full-time 4WD system, a functional hood scoop and the ability to reach 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Although it may seem strange for a vehicle that is used to off-road driving at slow speeds, Jeep claims that the Rubicon 395 is a completely different Wrangler. Source URL

Rubicon 392’s large air scoop is visible under the hood. The engine can still provide full power even if the scoop’s opening becomes clogged with snow or mud. Source URL

The Rubicon 392 is not just for straight-line acceleration on the road. Jeep claims that it will be the most capable Wrangler ever. It backs this up with 10.3 inches of ground clearance (half an inch less than the regular Rubicon), and suspension articulation that has been improved to allow for an approach angle of 44.5 degrees, departure angle 37.5 degree, and a breakover of 22.6 degree. The approach and departure of the Rubicon is slightly better than other Rubicons due to the 392’s 2-inch lift. Due to its unique air induction system that can divert up to 15 gallons of water per hour away from the engine, Jeep claims it can also cross 32.5 inches of water depth. Source URL

Other bits and pieces include a 2.72 low-range gear ratio that allows for 48:1 crawl (not as good as the 84:1 transmission provided by the Rubicon manual-transmission with its standard V6), and a driver-selectable Off-road Plus mode with settings for Sand and Rock. Standard equipment includes unique Fox aluminum monotube shocks. Although we don’t have details on the brakes, Jeep claims that they have been upgraded for the 392. Source URL

Jeep has added a massive 6.4 Liter HEMI engine to the Wrangler due to the Ford Bronco’s competition. This engine was built in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. However, after-sales shops have modified it for the Jeep Gladiator pickup. Jeep will now offer customers something they really want as soon as next year. Source URL

The Wrangler 392’s styling is conservative, despite its blustering powertrain. Granite Crystal exterior paint is paired with lovely bronze accents, including “Jeep” and “392” badges that are scattered tastefully on the front end. The custom red interior is the boldest styling feature. It looks great against the more conservative exterior. Source URL

The “392” stands for cubic inches and refers to the new engine, FCA’s 6.4-liter V8. Jeep will not offer a manual transmission, but it will have an eight-speed automatic transmission. However, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will offer performance shifting technology. Source URL

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 V8 6.4-liter Specs

The naturally-aspirated V8 engine of 6.4-liter will produce 470 horsepower and 470 pounds-feet of torque in the Wrangler Rubicon 392. It will only be available in four-door Unlimited trim. The Wrangler will go from 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds thanks to its standard eight-speed automatic transmission (no manual transmission), Selec-Trac full-time four-wheel drive system, and the quarter-mile in 13 seconds. We bet that it will be the loudest Wrangler ever made. The dual-mode exhaust system will make it the most powerful Wrangler. Source URL

The engine is connected to an eight-speed auto with paddle shifters, which is a first for the Wrangler. It breathes through an active exhaust system that opens valves manually or under full throttle, at the driver’s request. Torque Reserve is a type of launch control for on-pavement antics. It allows Rubicon 392 to move on solid pavement grip, which can be accessed during brake torque launches. AMax shifting makes the most of engine torque and cog swaps. It’s also used on the Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Source URL

Despite the large hood scoop that feeds air to the Hemi V8, the Rubicon 392 is able to wade through 32.5 inches of water. The Hydro-Guide air intake system, which has tri-level ducting, directs water away from the mill even if waves are thrown over the hood. This air inlet system can also be used if the hood is covered in mud, which is a common occurrence in Wrangler. Source URL

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Off-Road Capability

The Rubicon 392 has a full-time Select-Track 4WD system with a 2.72 low-range gear ratio. There are four modes available: 4WD Auto, 4WD High, Neutral and 4WD Low. The Dana 44 axles at the front and rear have thicker axle tubes. Electronic locking differentials and an electronic disconnect for the front sway bar are still available. Jeep claims that nearly all the Hemi V8’s torque can be used for gentle crawling on rough terrain. A 48:1 crawl ratio means that drivers can use the HemI’s displacement to brake the engine as an effective engine brake. Source URL

Wrangler 392 Exterior Specs

The grille has been optimized to better cool the V8. A new instrument cluster is also available to properly conveys the engine’s increased performance capabilities. The Rubicon 392 branding is located inside the seats. It comes standard with a variety of features such as leather trim, Infotainment Group, Safety and Advanced Safety Groups, body-colored hard tops, and other items that are normally optional. Mopar will offer a wide range accessories for the Rubicon 392. Source URL

The 392’s most subtle differences can be found on the exterior. Although this may seem strange for a Jeep, the Rubicon is so over-inflated and adorned with burly bits that the “392” badges on the hood can be easily missed. However, don’t worry. You’ll be heard long before you are seen thanks to the performance exhaust. It’s not even close to the factory Wrangler’s sound. Source URL

Jeep Wrangler 392 Interior Specs

Inside, the interior features unique stitching on the leather seats and steering column. The steering wheel now features integrated aluminum paddle shifters for the first time in a Wrangler. To keep track of the vehicle’s stats, the standard Uconnect 8.4-inch system includes Off Road pages. Source URL

Can a Wrangler fit a 5.7-liter Hemi engine?

The 6.4-liter engine could prove to be too much for Wrangler buyers. Ram 1500’s 5.7-liter Hemi engine is tuned to 395 horsepower (291 kW), and can be packed into the Wrangler’s engine bay. Jeep claims that the V8, specifically the Hellcat engine, fits in the Wranglers “like a glove”, but the engine is basically the crumple zone. There were serious questions about whether such a Wrangler could pass crash testing. Source URL

What is the fuel economy of the Jeep Wrangler 392?

Fuel economy is what is bad. Over the week, I averaged 14.0 L/100 km. This includes a few hours of highway driving, urban cruising, and an off-road trip to reach the cabin. This is not good. Because the Rubicon’s 3.6-litre V6 engine doesn’t feel strained by its 4100-lb curb weight, it delivers decent performance. Rumours of a hybrid or diesel engine in an eventual, lighter Wrangler could be true if they are true. This could mean that the fuel bill might not be as high as it is now. Source URL

How does the Jeep Wrangler 392 accelerate?

However, a hyperactive traction nanny can only hide the twin numbers “450” so much. The Wrangler 392’s nose points to the sky once it has rolled and the throttle is fully applied. The body twists towards the right rear wheel as the chassis handles the engine’s powerful output. It is comparable to a sand dragster in terms of vehicle dynamics and fun factor. Source URL

How much horsepower does a 6.4-litre 392 Hemi V8 Wrangler have?

The eight-cylinder Wrangler is a modified version the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 Dodge Charger, Durango, and Challenger. It produces 470 horsepower and 470 pounds-feet of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The console-mounted gear selector and paddle shifters on the steering wheel allow manual shifting. Unfortunately, there is no manual gearbox available here. The four-wheel drive system still retains a two-speed transfer case. Source URL

How much does a 392 V8 Jeep Wrangler cost?

It was inevitable that Jeep would finally put a V8 in its favorite child. Customers have been making V8-swapping Wranglers in the aftermarket for some time. They have been building some amazing four-wheelers. These swaps can cost more than $100,000 and offer varying warranty coverage after completion. The Wrangler 392’s $74,995 starting price doesn’t seem so outrageous in light of this context. Customers should only need a factory warranty and a high-quality V8 to order. Source URL

What is the top speed of a Jeep Wrangler?

It’s not surprising that the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is a car that we can’t wait to drive in 2021. It sounds crazy to have a V8-powered Wrangler that can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and still be able to tackle some of America’s most challenging off-road trails. The top speed is limited at 159 km/h. Source URL

How much does a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 cost?

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 will go on sale in the U.S. early next year. Details regarding Canada have not yet been made available. The price of a base V6-powered Wrangler SUV will be more than $50,000. Source URL

It doesn’t cover all options. The trailer-tow package, integrated off-road camera, and dual-door and top groups are all extra, as well as the integrated offroad camera. It’s possible that the Rubicon 392 will be the most expensive Rubicon, based on leaked pricing information, could cost $80,000. Source URL

Is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 a good truck?

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is a great vehicle despite some setbacks and what will be awful fuel economy ratings when they arrive. Moab’s serene trails are about to be a lot louder. Source URL

This Wrangler won’t be a popular Wrangler, aside from a few Mopar enthusiasts who have the means to buy a 392. It wasn’t built to fill Jeep’s bank account. It was designed to slow down the Bronco’s excitement train, which already has over 190,000 reservations from eager buyers. This plan failed as we are now at 2020 and still talking about Bronco almost daily, while the Rubicon 392 has fallen off the radar. Source URL

How much is a brand new Jeep Wrangler 392?

The base Wrangler Rubicon 392 is still more expensive than the Ram 1500 TRX at $71,690. The standard WranglerRubicon Rubicon has a starting price of $42,390. This is almost $35,000 less than the V8 version. $28,315 is the cheapest 2021 Wrangler you can purchase. Source URL

This MSRP is only applicable to the Launch Edition. The Rubicon 392’s base price will be lower. Jeep claims that Jeep’s Launch Edition is “well-equipped” with features such as leather interior, Infotainment Group, Cold Weather Group, LED lighting Group, Safety Group, Advanced Safety Group and Steel Bumper Group. Source URL

This price is $20,000 more than the High Altitude 4xe plug in hybrid. The Rubicon 392 has a powerful 6.4-liter V8 engine, but it’s also the same engine Dodge will sell you in a Charger Scat Pack for $41,000. Source URL
