FAQ: 3.6 Pentastar Towing Capacity

What is the towing capacity of a 3.6 Pentastar?

The 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar, which is widely regarded, is now available with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The combination produces 305 horsepower at 6,400 rpm, and 269 lb-ft torque at 4,175 rpm. This is 42% more power and 13% more torque than the V6 that it replaces, as well as a 20% reduction in fuel consumption. The 2,955 kg (6,500 lbs) towing capacity is the best in this category. Ford’s 3.7-litres tow 2,773 kg (7,100 lbs), while Chevrolet’s 4.3-liters tow 1,455 kg (5,400 lbs). You can choose from a regular, extended, or Crew cab. It is available with two- or four-wheel drive. The regular cab version has HFE (High Fuel Efficiency), which includes the stop-start system.
