The large, high-voltage battery of the Audi etron stores up to 95 kWh and forms the basis for its long-range. Customers can charge their Audi eton with up to 150 kW direct current (DC) at Ionity network fast-charging terminals. This is the first series-produced car that has this capability. Audi just revealed some changes to its 2021 model year, which could increase the number of EV buyers who are considering an E-Tron. The SUV will be much more affordable, starting at $65,900, instead of $74,800. Audi also increased the range by 18 miles, not by adding a larger battery, but through software improvements. e-Tron Remote Services

Remote services are the second part of the package. They can be controlled via an app. These include locking and unlocking the car, checking the location of the vehicle, and calling up the vehicle status. The status report contains information about the closed/opened windows, unlocked/locked doors, fuel level, and oil level. This status report can be displayed on the smartphone of the customer. You can also use the app to program the optional auxiliary heating function. e-Tron Models

Audi e-Tron Q4

The Q4 etron is the first Audi production Audi to be built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric car platform. It’s also a premium European brand that has a compact electric SUV in its home market, just before Tesla can bring the Model Y to our roads. Source URL

Audi claims that the interior of the Q4 etron is as spacious as the Q5 SUV due to its electric powertrain. Source URL

We’ve only tested the e-tron quattro in warm weather so far. This raises questions about its driving range and performance in northern climates. The engineers of the model pointed out that some vehicle testing was done in winter in Scandinavia and that its range was close to 250 km. They also noted that energy consumption can be affected by many factors, including driving habits. We won’t be able draw any conclusions until the media can test the etron quartro in winter conditions. Source URL

Driving Modes

Every Q4 etron comes with six modes of drive, including ‘comfort’ and ‘auto’ for normal driving. The ‘individual’ mode allows drivers to personalize their car’s setup, while the ‘dynamic’ mode adjusts the chassis and throttle response. A pair battery optimisation modes are available for eking out the most range possible. ‘range’ limits the top speed to 55 mph, while ‘efficiency’ allows you to drive at 80 mph. Source URL

Drive mode, the two electric motors produce 265 kilowatts, which is equivalent to 355 horsepower. Sport mode allows you to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds if you engage launch control. Audi e-Tron Sportback

Audi’s second model in its e-tron range is unveiled in Ingolstadt on November 20, 2019. Audi’s latest model is the second in its product line. The Audi e-Tron Sportback SUV coupé offers up to 300 kW and a range up to 446 km (277.1 miles) (in the WLTP cycle) from a single battery charge (combined electric power consumption in kWh/100 km (62.1 mi). 26.3 – 21.6 (WLTP); 23.9 – 20.6(NEFZ); combined CO2 emissions in g/km (g/mi). The highly flexible thermal management, which includes four circuits, regulates the temperature of high-voltage components to maximize efficiency. This allows for rapid DC charging, a long battery life cycle, and reproducible performance even under heavy loads. Standard heat pumps harness the heat from the high voltage battery to heat the interior. They can use up to 3 kW of power loss to heat and air condition the interior, which is extremely efficient. The Audi e-tron Sportback’s range can be increased by up to ten percent depending on the outside temperature. Source URL

The high-voltage battery is charged by the electric motors and the rear electric motor, which act as generators in these situations. Variable regulation of energy recuperation between both electric modules allows for both in-coasting mode when the driver lets go of the right-hand pedal and during braking. You can adjust the amount of coasting recovery by using paddles on the steering wheel. This is even more difficult than the e-tron. The Audi e-Tron Sportback can recuperate 300 Nm (221.3 lb-ft) and 220 kW when it brakes at 100 km/h (62.1 mph). This is more than 70 percent more than the sister model. The Audi RS e-tron GT, a pure-electric grand tourer, has been launched. It will be able to be used alongside the existing SUV and rivals such as the Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan, and other cars. The price will start at £110,950. Source URL

The e-tron GT concept does not just borrow the Porsche Taycan’s architecture. It shares it. This architecture’s key feature is its ability to provide 800-volt ultra-fast charging, which allows for 200-plus miles of range in just 20 minutes on a highway pit stop. This is game-changing technology. Let’s not get too concerned about the exact shape, features or price tag of the eron GT, as it is only the first vehicle with an Audi badge to show this road-trip-enabling, fast-charging capability. Audi suggested to me that the e-tron GT could be a stepping stone to more EV sedans. Perhaps a battery-powered A7 or A5 with the same long-distance, fast-charging capabilities as the etronGT. Audi e-Tron GT RS

The RS has an 85kWh battery pack, just like the standard e-tron GT. However, the EV’s maximum range drops from 295 miles to 280 miles due to its more powerful electric motors. The charging architecture of the EV shares the same architecture as the GT, so buyers can recharge the system overnight using an 11kW wallbox. Source URL

Audi also made a few cosmetic changes to the standard e-tron GT, including unique alloy wheels, more aggressive bumpers and wider side skirts. The e-Tron Sportbacks will be available in two output versions in Germany. The base price is EUR 71,350. Audi will offer the limited-edition model “edition one” in the plasma blue color to celebrate the launch. It’s based on the S line exterior and includes the virtual exterior mirrors, attachments in aluminum-look, exclusive 21-inch wheels and orange brake calipers. A 2019 e-tron with 83.6 kWh of available energy was driven on open road. The car also had optional 21-inch wheels, which will likely reduce the vehicle’s range. The e-Tron performed extremely well and it was able travel 188.4 miles (303 km) in the test. However, it fell 15.6 miles (24 km) below the EPA-rated range. Source URL

Is the Audi RS E-Tron GT faster than the R8?

Both the R8 and E-Tron can claim speeds of 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in the same 3.3 seconds. The electric car jumps off the line faster than the supercar in real-world conditions, and it keeps its lead in the quarter-mile drag race. The RS Eron GT was independently recorded accelerating to 100 km/hr in just 3 seconds. Source URL

The R8 GT proved to be more precise and direct in quick turns on the German and Austrian roads between Munich and Wörthersee. It also demonstrated less understeer than the R8 5.2. The GT’s all-wheel drive sends only 15 percent of its torque to its front end in normal conditions. This means that 85 percent of the toque is sent to the rear wheels. This is much more than an AWD. To be clear, EV drivers who are committed to the one-pedal approach can still make it happen in the Audi e-tron SUV. It requires searching through the menus on the dashboard, finding the “Efficiency Assist” screen, and setting it up to Manual. The paddle shifter on the steering wheel can be used to increase the brake regen to two higher levels, and it will remain activated to give you a persistent one-paved feel.
